What is a Digital Negative? – Tampa Wedding Photography

An acquaintance of mine stopped me recently and told me how her daughter had her wedding in Tampa last year and got the disc of digital negatives from her photographer.  This is very common these days.  She also said how terrible she looked when they looked at the images.  She said she did not remember looking that bad!  I assured her that most likely it was not her or anyone else at the wedding, but the problem with the product she was looking at.  A digital negative is just that. A negative.  There has been no artwork done on the image, no retouching done on the skin to remove fine lines, wrinkles or blemishes.   This is very normal; however, you as the consumer should be educated about this.  Some photographers will also give very large files, thinking that this is what the client wants.   In most instances this is a mistake.  Your computer is not usually set up to handle all this extra file information if all you want to do is print up to an 8×10.

She also told me after more than a year, her daughter has no wedding photography album.

This is why in all my current wedding photography packages I include an album.  You should not have to put this together or design it or have to do the research to find a quality supplier of wedding albums.  That really is the job of the professional.  Designing a wedding album is hard work!  It takes not only a great deal of time and technical knowledge, but also artistic ability to create a finished quality wedding photo album.  Also, in the album, all the wedding portraits that are your favorite should be retouched.  Do you as a consumer really know how to do this?  Do you want to take the time to do it?  This job can be overwhelming.  Please go with a professional wedding photographer that provides full service from start to finish.  Contact me to discuss your wedding photography today.  727-787-9655 Tampa wedding photographer

Kudos from a former bride…Palm Harbor Beach Photography

Cindi and Dave sought me out many years ago to do their wedding portraits and just a little while ago to create family portraits.  We had a terrific session on the beach and a wonderful time catching up.  Cindi was very kind to write a testimonial for me –

It is through Kathleen’s eyes and her great photography that I can still look at my wedding album today, and the pictures still look as good as they did in 1995 when Kathleen photographed my wedding.  Years later, while planning my in-laws surprise 50th wedding anniversary party, I decided to get a family portrait done and Kathleen came to mind, so I searched to see if she was still in the area after all this time. Thankfully she was. I got the family together, and headed to the beach at sunset. We all had a great time, and received awesome photographs. Kathleen’s love for photography is reflected in her enthusiasm and her professionalism. If you want pictures, and memories that will last a lifetime, look no further, Kathleen is your person.

Thank you for all the great memories,

Cindi

Miles+Colleen+Alexa=Family …Orlando Wedding Photography

Last weekend’s Orlando wedding was especially wonderful as I saw not only a bride and groom come together, but a family form that include a beautiful relationship with a daughter.  Lots of love and laughter and great relationships at this wedding.  One of the great things I like about weddings is the sense of family that always comes into play.  Miles and Colleen’s wedding was in Orlando at a fun venue called The Veranda in Thornton Park.  Set in a group of quaint, old houses in an historic area with cobblestone streets, lots of charm and fun little shops around.  Bonny, the coordinator for the Orlando wedding was very easy to work with and kept on top of things.  I love working with wedding coordinators  – they keep things on time and in order.  Give me a call to talk about your wedding soon.

A Winning smile…Palm Harbor Children’s Photographer

Little “V” has been coming to me since she was a new born.  A beautiful baby and a beautiful toddler.  She won her first pageant just a little while ago and Mom and Dad brought her in to create a memory of the milestone.  After we got her portraits with the trophies, Mom jumped in for a few and we created an heirloom wall portrait for them to treasure. Be sure to give Kathleen Hall Photography a call to commemorate any special events in your life.
