Heidi and Paul came in last week for their pregnancy portraits. A lot of times I just get the mom in to do the images by herself, but I am always happy to get the dad in as well. After all, it is something that both parents participate in and to have portraits of both mom and dad during the pregnancy is quite a lovely thing. Here is my favorite of the session, Paul looks so loving and protective as he gazes at his wife and Heidi looks so at peace and serene. I made this portrait in black and white. Black and white can convey the emotion of an image sometimes better than color. Love to hear comments about this one, this is the first time I have used this pose with a couple.

My dear Heidi & Paul…well done! classic & elegant images! just perfect ! I took some similar pictures to a friend of mine, ”very pregnant” and ”very single” ! She is now showing my shots to her baby girl Lavinia, almost 6 years old …and she likes her mum a lot….
It was an idea of my friend Valeria, not mine…and I thought she was a little crazy but when we started ”playing” the roles of model and photographer, I was happy too! We decided to use the option of ‘Seppia’ colour (not really Black and White), sort of vintage and yellowish tonality…
