First Communion Portraits…

Natalie and her son came in yesterday for first communion portraits and they came out super!  Natalie had great grandma’s prayer book to include in the images and I absolutely love it when we can use an heirloom in the portrait.  Justin was perfect and did everything we asked of him.  We did some more casual images of Mom and son together and, of course, Lilly, too.  (Their little long haired chihuahua!)  But I’ve just included one separate of Natalie alone.  The others will be a surprise for you next week!  See you soon.

Romantic Portraits Blog…

This is a repeated blog post from my new site, Romantic Portraits by Kathleen, that I have started just this week.  For all of you that follow the Kathleen Hall Photography blog, please check out the new one.  I have only images and posts relating to the Romantic Portraits and how they are changing the way women look at themselves, one woman at a time.  If you would like to subscribe, just check the link on this page, enter your email and you will be updated each time a post is made.  I hope you enjoy this very new genre of photography!

It all began with my sister…

I had had this idea for a little while about creating portraits of women in a way that they would feel beautiful about themselves again.  Treat them extra special and create loving, warm images to show them how beautiful they really are.  My sister came to visit and she had lost 90 pounds in the last year.  But she was still waiting to “lose a few more” before she went shopping and bought new clothes.  We all know how that is.  Or, if you are still 17, maybe you don’t. 🙂 But, we went shopping, I took her to my salon, Salon Bella Flora, and they graciously worked her in and did her hair and make up and VIOLA!  We created portraits to knock her socks off!  New clothes and the ability to see herself in the best light (pun intended!) changed the way she looked at herself.  Take a look at some of the sample images below…

Portrait of two handsome sons…

These two cousins came in this morning.  Last time I saw Rhett, he was 3?  And, even though he is now almost all grown up, he still gave me the best expressions.  He had some great smiles but this serious one just touched my heart.  And then there was Hayden and his mom.  Sorry mom, but he just stole the show!  What great eyes.  The couple of the two of you are stupendous!  The emotion and love between you two just comes oozing out!  Yes, there are plenty of color ones as well.  Here is your sneak peek – see you tomorrow!   For those who are wondering, when I get a client from out of town,  I will do my best to accomodate schedules to get you in as quick as possible if you are only here for a short period of time.  Can’t wait to show you the rest.  Leave a comment and tell me your favorite.

Pregnancy Portraits of a family…

Amy and Michael came in to celebrate the birth of their second child and wanted to do similar portraits of what they had done with their first, and they wanted to include their older daughter in them as well.  Little “E” was a charmer.  She did everything we asked her to do and just gave us the best expressions.  Amy and Michael were very comfortable in front of the camera and it shows in the portraits.  It really makes a real difference when my portrait subjects are relaxed and ready to trust me to pose them in an attractive way.  Thanks everybody!  Here is your “sneak peek” – you will see the rest of them on Wednesday.  And, yes, there are some awesome ones of just the two of you as well!  Leave a comment and let us know what you think.

A perfect 1 year old portrait…

Little  “A” came in last week to celebrate her 1 year old birthday.  Grandma and Mom always bring her in together and we have such a good time!  This time she was all smiles, until we went into the camera room…then she became a very serious child!  But we worked hard and got some great portraits.  These were among the favorites…just thought I would share.  Leave a comment and let me know what you think!
