A couple of characters!…Palm Harbor Photographer Kathleen Hall Photography

Last week Pamela and Rick came in to see me to do couple portraits.  I had photographed Pamela two years ago for her glamour portraits and they came back to have photographs created of them together on Friday. I love to do these type of images.  How long people wait to have images of just the two of them!  There is a decided joy between two people in love who have been together for a long time.  And it shows here in their photos.  They met on a blind date years ago … yea, a blind date!  Remember those?  Before dating on the web?  You never knew what your date was going to be like, let alone look like!  Yikes!  Life was more adventuresome then.  Enjoy your sneak peek – see you next week for the full reveal!

Senior Portraits at Clearwater Beach…(Palm Harbor High School Senior Photographer)

This beautiful young lady is graduating this year and wanted special High School Senior Photographs at the beach.  Wearing something more casual was in order and she picked out some great outfits.  Variety in colors and style in clothing helps a lot to have a portrait portray your personality.  Congratulations to all the wonderful graduates this year!

High School Senior time…(Palm Harbor Senior Photographer)

Outdoor portraits seem to be the thing this year, even more than previous years.  Kelsey wanted her High School Senior portraits taken outdoors and after some discussion, we decided on Brooker Creek Park in Tarpon Springs.  After a few false starts due to weather conditions, we got a beautiful day out there and had a wonderful time creating these memories for her.  The lace dress and boots is a fun look, but my favorite was the periwinkle blue blouse she wore.  It really brought out her eyes!  Congratulations Kelsey!  You made it all the way through those 12 years and now you have a whole new world ahead of you!

A Brand new baby for Mother’s Day…(Palm Harbor Baby Photography)

Who out there knows the joy of a new grand-baby? Well one of my clients was overjoyed at her first granddaughter and wanted to have portraits done so the whole world could see.  But she couldn’t get the baby! You know how new mom’s and dad’s don’t want to let the baby out of their site for a little while.  So, the first time she got the baby by herself, she called to see if I was available and luckily I was and she brought little Cassidy to see me.  She wanted this to be a surprise for mom and dad and we photographed this little doll baby to create heirloom portraits for the parents ( and a few for grandma, too 😉 )  This was to be a first Mother’s Day surprise, but I know she couldn’t wait and gave her the portrait a little early.  Happy Mothers Day to all with these fun little images.  Whether your baby is still a baby or off to college, you will always hold a special place in your children’s hearts. Enjoy!

This is my mom…

Mom and I As Mother’s Day approaches I am reminded of my mom.  I miss her.  A mom loves you and knows you like no other person on earth.  My mom has passed on and I think of her almost every day.  She had a great sense of humor and was a quiet soul, quite gentle.  This image was taken about a month before she passed away.  I went out to Utah to visit her in the nursing home she was in and surprised her and took her away  to a hotel for about a week.  We just holed up in there and looked out the big picture window at the snow covered mountains (it was January).  She wasn’t very mobile, so I just brought food in and talked and watched cable TV and looked at stuff on my laptop.  I did take her to a nature preserve to see the birds, which she loved all her life.  I pushed her wheelchair around the boardwalk and had to hurry a bit as it started to rain.  But she said she didn’t care, she hadn’t felt rain in quite a long time.  We passed an ice cream store on the way back and it had a sign up for fresh peach ice cream milkshakes.  I just happened to ask her if she wanted one and she surprised me by saying yes.  Her appetite had gotten quite poor.  We sat at the drive in and had peach milkshakes together!  Besides remembering my mom what is this about?  Well this picture is the one picture that I have with just her and I.  Yep.  Just one.  When I was small, she was taking all the pictures.  When I grew up, I was the one taking pictures.  So we kinda never got in one together by ourselves.  I have one family one when I was about 5 with everyone, but not just my mom.  So when I was out there, we both had the thought that my goodness, we don’t have a picture together!  So I sat the camera up on the a suitcase on top of the bed, and put in on auto and ran over beside Mom.  She died less than a month later.  So, as Mother’s Day approaches, please remember your mom and remember to get a special picture of just her and you.  And if you have a daughter or son, please take an image with each one of them with  just you from time to time.  You will never regret it.
