How do you feel…? Kathleen Hall Photography Palm Harbor Fl

I find that, as humans, we value photographs because of the way they make us feel. The stronger the feeling, the more we value the photograph.

Jesh de Rox

When I read this quote by Jesh, (yes, that is his name and correct spelling), I began to think about the photographs in my life and the photographs that I had created.  I found that the ones that stood out are the ones that brought back feelings and memories to my life.  Whether it was remembering a great event or wonderful friends or clients or  “friendclients” (new word, made it up, haha!),  they all touched a place in my heart.  Photos that made me feel good about myself and how I looked also made the list.  Photos that made me laugh or reminisce also came instantly to mind.   Even the ones that were memories of awful news stories, they made me feel. And I realized Jexh had summed it up in two sentences.

When I photograph, I love to create  photographs that will make you feel something.  I have included a few of my favorites below.

What is a Digital Negative? – Tampa Wedding Photography

An acquaintance of mine stopped me recently and told me how her daughter had her wedding in Tampa last year and got the disc of digital negatives from her photographer.  This is very common these days.  She also said how terrible she looked when they looked at the images.  She said she did not remember looking that bad!  I assured her that most likely it was not her or anyone else at the wedding, but the problem with the product she was looking at.  A digital negative is just that. A negative.  There has been no artwork done on the image, no retouching done on the skin to remove fine lines, wrinkles or blemishes.   This is very normal; however, you as the consumer should be educated about this.  Some photographers will also give very large files, thinking that this is what the client wants.   In most instances this is a mistake.  Your computer is not usually set up to handle all this extra file information if all you want to do is print up to an 8×10.

She also told me after more than a year, her daughter has no wedding photography album.

This is why in all my current wedding photography packages I include an album.  You should not have to put this together or design it or have to do the research to find a quality supplier of wedding albums.  That really is the job of the professional.  Designing a wedding album is hard work!  It takes not only a great deal of time and technical knowledge, but also artistic ability to create a finished quality wedding photo album.  Also, in the album, all the wedding portraits that are your favorite should be retouched.  Do you as a consumer really know how to do this?  Do you want to take the time to do it?  This job can be overwhelming.  Please go with a professional wedding photographer that provides full service from start to finish.  Contact me to discuss your wedding photography today.  727-787-9655 Tampa wedding photographer

Miles+Colleen+Alexa=Family …Orlando Wedding Photography

Last weekend’s Orlando wedding was especially wonderful as I saw not only a bride and groom come together, but a family form that include a beautiful relationship with a daughter.  Lots of love and laughter and great relationships at this wedding.  One of the great things I like about weddings is the sense of family that always comes into play.  Miles and Colleen’s wedding was in Orlando at a fun venue called The Veranda in Thornton Park.  Set in a group of quaint, old houses in an historic area with cobblestone streets, lots of charm and fun little shops around.  Bonny, the coordinator for the Orlando wedding was very easy to work with and kept on top of things.  I love working with wedding coordinators  – they keep things on time and in order.  Give me a call to talk about your wedding soon.

Josh+Julie

Weddings are such a great family event – Josh and Julie’s was no exception.  What a wonderful bunch of friends and family came out to wish them well in starting their new life together.  Loved working with old and new wedding professionals to make this come together.  Debbie, from Bride’s Bouquet -we’ve worked together for many years.  Absolutely gorgeous flowers!  Celebration Productions with Larry Browett- music was superb!  The staff at Heritage Springs Country Club was incredibly professional and organized.  Check out a few of their images for their sneak peek!

A Wedding to remember…

George and Mary got married at St. Nicholas Church in Tarpon and I always love that church for photographs. It is so majestic inside. George and Mary were so happy and all their friends were elated for them. After images in the church, we moved on to one of my favorite places to have a reception, the Bon Apetit in Dunedin. It is such a pretty place and wonderful sunsets. The staff is always professional and gracious. Great to work with. Take a look at a few images from their day. Many more to come, Mary and George. Just a sneak peek for you and family! Enjoy!
